The largest and oldest Czech museum founded in 1818 is housed in a monumental neo-renaissance building from the years 1885 – 1890 that dominates the Wenceslas Square.

Opening hours

  • May – September 10 – 18 daily
  • October – April 9 – 17 daily
  • closed on first Tuesdays of the month
  • every first Monday in a month no charge for admission

Admission fees:

  • Basic: 120 Kč
  • Reduced: 70 Kč seniors (over 60 years), disabled persons, children 6–15 years old, High schools and University students (student ID card is necessary)
  • Family: 150 Kč (max. 2 adults, all together 4 persons)
  • School group with pedagogue: 40 Kč/person
  • Student ticket with 1 year validation: 220 Kč (validate 1 year from the date of acquisition)

Ticket with 3 days validation to all objects of the National Museum situated in Prague:

  • Basic: 160Kč
  • Reduced: 80Kč
  • Family: 200Kč
